Billie Eilish’s acting debut in Donald Glover’s new series Swarm has got many talking. Billie Eilish’s bloodthirsty acting shows off her acting prowess as many look forward to seeing her on the small screen. Get the details below.
Billie Eilish Makes Acting Debut In Swarm
Her acting debut on Donald Glover’s first post-Atlanta series, Swarm, shows Billie Eilish off as a natural. Billie teased followers with a brief clip of her in the new series. Swarm is a horror/thriller about an obsessed fan named Dre, played by Dominique Fishback.
In the clip, Dre describes seeing milk spilled on a carpet. Billie, whose character is named Eva, asks her, “What color was the milk?” When Dre reveals that the milk is red, Eva asks, in a hushed but seemingly delighted tone, “Did you hurt someone?” And smiles. Dre admits she did, and Eva declares, “Very good.”
Billie Eilish’s bloodthirsty acting was so good that followers instantly declared their eagerness to watch the series. Several others celebrated the singer’s debut with the words “ACTING ERA.”
The clip’s creepy scene adds to the mystique surrounding Swarm, created by Donald and Atlanta writer and producer Janine Nabors. Per EW, the creators describe Dre as some sort of anti-hero, like Don Draper or Tony Soprano, but “through the lens of a Black, modern-day woman.”
Dre’s love of fictional, Beyoncé-like pop star Ni’Jah drives her to commit dark, violent, murderous actions in an exploration of the toxic side of iconography and fandom.
Producers Think Dominique Fishback Is Great For The Role
Meanwhile, Dominique is already earning raves for her performance. Scriptwriter Janine recalled the last scene of the pilot they shot: “every single person stopped what they were doing and gave Dom a standing ovation for three minutes.”
She added that she had never seen such an astounding performance in all her years of shooting for TV.
“That was the moment that Donald and I looked at each other and we were like, ‘All right — we got something right.'”
Chlöe Bailey, the flourishing pop icon, also stars as Dre’s sister Marissa. Meanwhile, Snowfall actor Damson Idris appears as Marissa’s boyfriend, Khalid. In addition to Billie, guest stars include Rickey Thompson, Paris Jackson, Rory Culkin, Kiersey Clemons, and Byron Bowers.
Swarm premieres on Prime Video on March 17. And by the look of things, Billie Eilish’s acting debut is a plus.
