Nintendo’s appearance at the latest WonderCon brought with it the announcement of heaps of brand new trinkets for consumers to hurl their money at. Most of the merchandise included mini figures of widely varying sizes featuring a variety of franchises and characters. Naturally, there will also be plushies and some apparel. The goodies advertised here don’t range beyond collectibles, at least not yet.

Collectible Figures
Articulated figures of Dark Link and Skull Kid? Yes, please. Those karts at the bottom are tape racers, by the way.

The products aren’t only restricted to the usual categories, however. A Splatoon Ink Roller-themed lint remover and some goo-filled squid toys are reportedly incoming later this year. Nintendo’s 4v4 IP received such overwhelming popularity that physical merchandise was only a matter of time. Several squid-themed gear has already been produced, largely only in Japan up to this point, and that mostly limited to clothing, a few plushies, and fan-made weapon replicas.

Not gonna lie. I need these things in my life.

With the arrival of Nintendo’s new president and pilgrimage into the world of mobile gaming, the company also announced plans to expand its reach into areas beyond gaming, such as public events and parks and, of course, physical merchandise both practical and knickknack. Perhaps, in the future, we may begin to see some Nintendo-styled furniture and home appliances (power star lamp light, anyone?).
