Diane Keaton is single at 77, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Well, there is not much she is willing to do herself. In fact, the star hopes her status never changes!
In the past, Diane Keaton dated a handful of known faces. The list included men in the entertainment industry and the business world. They were men whose legacy continues to reverberate, but she never married any.
The train-length list includes Steve Jobs, Woody Allen, Al Pacino, Edward Ruscha, Warren Beatty, and James Foley. “John Wick: Chapter 4” star, Keanu Reeves was also part of her exes.
The Diane Keaton single status has been ongoing for years. More than once she has boldly shared how marriage was never in her dictionary. Surprisingly, it was her parents’ great relationship that influenced her.
During a brutally honest discussion with Lisa Kudrow, Keaton admitted that watching her mother affected her. Even though her parents did not suffer marriage problems, she noted that it was burdensome.
The Californian native who grew up as a first child mentioned that her dad was always working. This left her mom with the responsibility of taking care of the home front. Keaton realized her mom sacrificed her dream for her family.
In her words:
“There was no more trying things out. I feel like she chose family over her dreams. And she was just the best mother, but I think that she is the reason why I didn’t get married. I didn’t want to give up my independence.”
But that was not the only reason. The Hollywood veteran claimed she had never been proposed to. So amid her string of relationships, there was no ring attached.
However, when she turned 50, she desired a family, and the ‘Diane Keaton single status’ did not restrict her. The “Something’s Gotta Give” star adopted two kids, a son, and a daughter.
