In a game like MLB The Show 23, stats matter as much as the skills of the player in control. One of the aspects many look forward to is the batting stance. You can choose from several stances or even use one as a base to create a custom stance. We’ll touch on how you can find the best batting stance in MLB The Show 23 for your play style.

Best Batting Stance in MLB The Show 23

There is no clear best batting stance around. Some people might feel one stance serves them better than another, depending on how you want to play your character. Some stances are ideal when it comes to making hard hits. At the same time, you may find yourself sacrificing contact and missing more balls.

On the other hand, you can have insane contact with the ball but not a lot of power. As such, in our effort to find the best batting stance in MLB The Show 23, let’s narrow our focus down.

When you select a stance, you can choose from the following:

  • Generic
  • Current Players
  • Former Players

If you’re choosing a batting stance from the given roster, perhaps the best for getting solid contact in MLB The Show 23 is with the Mike Trout stance. It is a well-known stance, and it can easily send the ball soaring if you time it right. Also, the stance doesn’t seem too difficult to learn, so you should adapt well enough.

Another batting stance worth considering if you want to make contact with the ball fast is Cody Bellinger. He has a simple stance and stride that can help you read the ball and get to it at once. Just note that this seems to sacrifice quite a bit of power, though.

Some other batting stances to keep in mind in MLB The Show 23 are the Legendary Stance 7 and the Shohei Ohtani.

You can always customize your batting stance, too, if you wish for something a bit more specific to your needs. Simply choose one of the stances as a starting base and go from there. There is not much in-game explanation when you do this, however. So, you may have to design something that looks good to you and dip into practice to see how it feels once you play.

In this case, the best batting stance in MLB The Show 23 will boil down to what you are most comfortable with.

For instance, in custom mode, one of the settings you can adjust is the “Forward Foot Offset.” On Offset X, lowering the number is ideal for players who tend to have later swings. This gives you better contact on those swings. On the other hand, increasing that number will work out more for those who swing early.

It’s little things like this that make all the difference in creating your ideal batting stance. So, play around with the settings or choose one of our recommended pre-built batting stances to see what works best for you.

MLB The Show 23 is available on PS5/PS4, Xbox One/Series, and Nintendo Switch.
