Regardless of how many profiles you create in Stardew Valley, every character’s journey will always begin on the first day of the spring season, leaving you to consider which spring crop can bring in the most profit. Of course, life in Stardew Valley is all about relaxation and escapism. Outside of gameplay progression or time of year, no gameplay constraint will dictate what you can or can’t do. However, those aiming to min-max their playthrough will undoubtedly search for ways to maximize their farm’s efficiency. Accordingly, such a motive might lead to deducing which spring crop Stardew fans can profit from the most.

When considering which spring crop Stardew Valley players should focus on during their first or subsequent spring seasons, the selling price for the raw product is a significant factor. In the case of the spring season, the three crops that take the crown as the most cost-efficient for maximum profit are Strawberry, Rhubarb, and Cauliflower, respectively.

These three crops were suggested from the spreadsheet created by Stardew Valley Forum user Zevvo, with guest user Flicker compiling the top three crops of each season regarding their profit. Other than these three types of produce bringing in the most money, let’s discuss why Strawberries are the most profitable crop. First, Rhubarb has the most days to grow out of the three and can only be purchased from the Oasis, a location inaccessible in the early portion of a playthrough. On the other hand, Cauliflower is much easier to get at the start of the game and can even grow into a giant crop. However, it still takes longer to grow and offers inferior profit.

Conversely, Strawberries can be grown in less time than Cauliflower and Rhubarb and produce additional yield over time. This profit only rises once you have unlocked the Tiller Profession in the Farming Skill and after you have the equipment to further process the fruit. The only drawback of Strawberries is they are quite rare to obtain since they are initially sold exclusively during the Egg Festival. However, once you are able to craft and place Seed Makers around your farm, you’ll be able to mass-produce the best spring crop in Stardew Valley in no time.

Stardew Valley is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and PC.
