Update 12.48 for SMITE has arrived, and here are all the changes and improvements mentioned in the patch notes. The update brings a ton of changes, including quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and, most important, in terms of actual gameplay, a long list of balance changes. QUALITY OF LIFE
The Maya Pantheon Icon
- has been Updated to be a more accurate symbol of Maya Mythology – it references the famous Maya civilization Chichen Itza.
Leaps vs Persistent CC
- Leaping into a persistent CC area will now deal damage or apply any other effects of the leaps landing effect
- Previously, leaping into these areas would CC the leaping god and negate any damage or other effects from their leap ability
Root Cripples
- This effect is now its own unique type of CC
- This effect now has a unique CC Debuff Bar Icon
- This effect applies 1 stack of DR
- This fixes a variety of issues where roots or cripples applied at the same time could last different durations and create mismatching CC effects
Roots Immune to DR are now a possible CC effect
- At this time this only applies to Persephone’s Ultimate direct hit target, but could be used in future designs
HUD Update
- We do plan to bring back and re-enable the New HUD for all platforms with 10.4, with a few big changes and extra criteria:
- Going forward, all players will have access to both the Old HUD and the New HUD – which can be toggled via the User Interface Settings
- No new HUD features will be available in the Old HUD, including the Console HUD editor
- PC Players will default to New HUD
- Console Players will default to the Old HUD, with option to opt into the new HUD if they are interested.
- More Navigation and Design improvements for the New Console HUD will be the top priority in future updates.
- Multiple issues affecting performance related to FPS or Network lag have been implemented, and will be monitored closely at launch. If performance still struggles in 10.4 we might disable the HUD again
HUD Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where multiple HUD elements would move together while editing
- Removed the Ability Icon border flash that occurs at 1s remaining cooldown time
- Fixed an issue where some kill accolade popups would be overwritten by more recent kills. These will now queue up and show all kills, as the old HUD used to
- Fixed a variety of localization issues
- Increased the size of the font for the console abilities screen and abilities pop-up
BUG FIXES
UI
- Fixed an issue where the Pick Your Own Chest Boosters could only be claimed once per Login
- Fixed an issue with the Auto Filter by Class Guide setting preventing players from selecting Gods in the Pre-Match Lobby outside of their assigned role
- Fixed an issue where Clan Admins were unable to change their Clan Avatar Loadouts
- Fixed an issue where Shard relic cooldowns could be reset in fountain for multiple uses
- Fixed an issue with God abilities appearing Undefined in the God Builder
- Fixed an issue where Spectator was showing incorrect wall geometry

- Fixed an issue where Gladiator’s Shield Item tooltip displayed an incorrect word for Protections in French
General Gameplay

- Fixed an issue where the lighting in the Gold Fury pit would flash on the floor

- Fixed an issue where his ultimate ability could sometimes permanently slow enemies
- Tiamat
- Fixed an issue where the tornado from her ultimate ability could sometimes permanently tick damage enemies
- Skadi
- Fixed an issue where her Permafrost ability could sometimes permanently slow and cause enemies to slide until death
- Yemoja
- Fixed an issue where she could target allies with Axe of Animosity
- Camazotz
- Fixed an issue where his Devour ability still had power scaling
- Olorun
- Fixed an issue where his Consecration ability still had healing scaling for allies
- Nemesis
- Fixed an issue where Root abilities did not remove her Retribution shield when applied
- Hercules
- Fixed an issue where the second heal from Mitigate Wounds wasn’t providing Vital Amplifier stacks
- Baba Yaga
- Fixed an issue where her ultimate was allowing her to trigger item on-hit effects twice from the landing damage and projectiles
- Danzaburou
- Fixed an issue where his ultimate didn’t cost mana when riding inside the rocket
- Rama
- Fixed an issue with his Berserker Bow skin where the ultimate FX were hard to see for enemies
- Athena
- Fixed an issue with Absolution passive not proccing after her ultimate ability
- Fixed an issue where she could land in geometry when targeting Surtr over walls with her ultimate ability
- Cabrakan
- Fixed an issue with his Gecko Taverner skin voice lines being swapped for Take this Jungle Buff and I need the Jungle Buff
- Chang’e
- Fixed an issue where her Crescent Moon Dance ability audio was connected to Low and Min World Detail on multiple skins
Items
- Teleport Relic
- Fixed an issue where Root abilities did not interrupt users during use
- Fixed an issue where this relic wasn’t working on Phoenixes for the Season of Hope Conquest map
- Brawler’s Beatstick
- Fixed an issue where the FX Aura could float in the air if an Enemy God died mid-air
- Drowned Ankh
- Fixed an issue where non-ability heals were triggering the miasma pools
- Horn Shard
- Fixed an issue where cooldowns weren’t working on alternate stance abilities (Tiamat, Tyr, King Arthur, etc.)
- Fixed an issue where this shard was providing Yemoja with more Omi regeneration and cooldown reduction than intended
