The Pyro Commander has some back-to-back defense capabilities with a beefy Riot Shield and KV Broadside combo. You’re bound to die on your first try, so make sure to take him on coordinating with some trusted squad members.

To gain the upper hand, you need to time your shots right after he empties his dragon’s breath rounds from his shotgun while avoiding his riot shield at the same time. Remember to take out all NPC soldiers accompanying the Pyro Commander in Warzone 2 to take him on 1v3.
Aggro the Pyro Commander alternatively to distract him. Navigate around his riot shield and attack him from behind. You could also lure him towards red barrels to cause some well-needed environmental damage.
