Horizon Forbidden West has become the talk of many. Last week, Guerrilla Games launched its latest DLC, which brought a lot of players back to the game. Now that it is free on PS Plus, many had the time to check it out and buy the expansion. Yet, that’s not everything that Guerrilla Games has brought. Today, in the most casual way ever, the studio behind the 2022 game announced that Horizon Forbidden West is getting a sequel. This is something that many saw coming due to how the story of the base game and the DLC ended, yet, we didn’t think it’d be confirmed so soon.
A ‘Horizon Forbidden West’ Sequel Is Already in the Works
Again, this isn’t too surprising, given how the game ended. We all knew this wouldn’t be the last we’d see of Aloy. Without spoiling too much, the base game ends in a sort of cliffhanger that continues in the new DLC. If you’ve finished the expansion, you might already know that Sylens is cooking something up to help Aloy save the world again. While we don’t know how long the next game will take to arrive, seeing a Horizon Forbidden West sequel officially confirmed is fantastic.
After an incredible journey at Guerrilla, our Studio Director Angie Smets is starting a new role as Head of Development Strategy at @PlayStation! We're so grateful for Angie's leadership and wish her the best in her new adventure 💙

Without a doubt, Guerrilla Games has made some fantastic titles as of late. The Horizon universe keeps growing, and besides the sequel to Horizon Forbidden West, the online game is also in the works. Many people knew an MMO set in Aloy’s universe would arrive eventually, but we haven’t seen many things yet. With things slowing down now that the DLC is out, the studio might focus on its two new projects, so we hope we’ll hear more of them soon. In the meantime, you should try Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores. It is an excellent expansion with some of the series’ best visuals that any fan should play.
