Although Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard is similar to Bravo‘s original Summer House, the format is slightly different. The series will feature an all-black cast for the very first time in its history. This surprising change comes after huge calls for more inclusivity within the Bravo series.
According to the Bravo website, this all-black cast is a group of twelve friends bound to enjoy beach parties, intimate dinners, and summer friendships. Meanwhile, fans will be privy to all the unfolding drama, including unfiltered truths, fights, bromance, and romance. Although the Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard cast are friends who already have an understanding, their stay on the island will be the first time they’re all under one roof.
Besides the drama and fun these 12 black professionals will offer, the location is one of the most intriguing aspects of the upcoming show. According to reports and judging by the title, the show will take place on a historical site known as Martha’s Vineyard. It is an island and one of the best beaches where blacks could acquire estates and enjoy getaways.
According to the press release, Martha’s Vineyard has been a haven for Black vacationers for over 1,000 years. The iconic site, located just south of Cape Cod, Massachusets, features pristine beaches, romantic sailboats, and colorful gingerbread cottages. The historical significance also provides a learning avenue for the cast, whose fans will watch explore the vineyard. Still, one of the cast members fans will meet when the Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard premieres is fashion enthusiast Nicholas “Nick” Arrington.
