If you are looking to upgrade your Epic Gear during World of Warcraft Dragonflight Season 2, you better collect some Splintered Sparks of Shadowflame. This Spark is a crafting reagent that replaces the previous Spark of Ingenuity used during Season 1. That means you will have to travel to the new zone called Zaralek Caverns to power up your already mighty gear. Look no further; here is how to get Splintered Sparks of Shadowflame in World of Warcraft.

Getting Splintered Sparks of Shadowflame will enable you to both craft and upgrade Epic Gear in World of Warcraft. One Spark of Shadowflame is composed of two Splintered Sparks of Shadowflame. That means that you have to get two of those to use it properly. There are a total of three ways you will be able to get some Sparks of Shadowflame in World of Warcraft Dragonflight.

Introductory Quest

The first method is a one-time event since it is an introduction to the new Sparks of Shadowflames. You will have to complete the tutorial quest called “Power Unified.” You receive this from an NPC called Examiner Tae’shara Bloodwatcher.

This quest will show you to the new area in WoW called the Zaralek Cavern. You must find one of the Splintered Sparks of Shadowflame and return it to the Examiner. Your reward will be another Splintered Spark, which you can combine with the one you collected into a Spark of Shadowflame.

Weekly Renown Quest

The second method will sound familiar to veteran Dragonflight players. Embers of Neltharion introduced a new faction named the Loamm Niffen. Just like in Season One, you will have a weekly quest involving gaining Renown with the Loamm Niffen faction. It is “A Worthy Ally: Loamm Niffen,” and you will have to gain 1,500 Renown.

In turn, You will receive one Scentsational Niffen Treasures. You can earn a Spark of Shadowflame from these bags if you have not collected one during that week. This is a huge upgrade from before since the player now needs only 1,500 Renown instead of the former 3,000 in Season 1.

Weekly Proving PvP Quest

Finally, you can also receive a Splintered Spark of Shadowflame by completing the weekly Proving PvP quests. You can locate these quests inside the Gladiator’s Refuge in Valdrakken. These quests may include “Proving in Battle,” “Proving in Arenas,” or “Proving in Skirmishes,” amongst others.

Once you complete the Proving PvP quest, you will receive a Malicia’s Hoard. Just like the Scentsational NIffen Treasures, these will include one Splintered Spark if you have not received one during that week.

Be sure to follow each of the methods above to get your Sparks of Shadowflame up and running. As you may have noticed, collecting Splintered Sparks is a weekly chore. Be sure to fit it into your schedule so you won’t miss the chance to collect them.
