One of the returning couples is Carlos Jiménez and De Juan “VaLentine.” The duo’s relationship ended on a cliffhanger in the previous season. The first time April and Valentine met was in the Dominican Republic. April, a doctor, decided to take some time off, and taking a trip to the Caribbean was the perfect holiday idea. Her getaway paid off as she not only received the ideal vacation treatment but also met Valentine. Although these two have been dramatically involved since then, a few things have threatened their long-distance relationship.
Apart from the distance, April has some baggage she has yet to release. The doctor has an ex-lover who still meddles in her business occasionally. However, this takes nothing away from her commitment to Valentine, as she visits the Dominican Republic whenever possible to meet with him. While April may feel confident in her love story with her younger lover, her family isn’t on the same page.
The trailer shows how her family is against the romance. They try to dissuade her from visiting the Dominican Republic by explaining that she is an adorable woman who does not need to cross the seas to find her perfect match. Nevertheless, fans quickly discover that April’s family intervention isn’t the only obstacle the couple would have to navigate to reach their happy ending.
In a confessional, April hinted that there might be some trouble in their paradise due to some questionable behaviour on Valentine’s part. She further revealed that he ghosted her for five days, which was not the first time such a thing would happen in their relationship.
