The long-awaited return of the classic dungeon-crawl! Warhammer Quest is back!

The miniature wargaming manufacturing company, Games Workshop is expanding their “Specialist Games” line. As part of this plan, they have announced the return of Warhammer Quest. For those unfamiliar with Warhammer Quest, it’s a fantasy dungeon, role playing, adventure board game first released by Games Workshop in 1995 and set in its fictional Warhammer world.

The new game is titled, Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower, and supports 2-4 players. The game’s story takes place within the labyrinthine lair of a Gaunt Summoner. Warhammer Quest allows you to either cooperate with your friends or to take the glory for yourself. The game is also episodic and allows characters carry over the skills and treasures they have earned in previous games. With 13 double-sided board tiles, there is a lot of variations to keep any two sessions from feeling the same. Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower features thousands of different dungeon-crawl combinations.

In addition to the game itself, Games Workshop has released a companion mobile app. This app allows you to play as more heroes, expand and catalog your trove of treasures, unlock new skills and track your progress in the game. There is also a tie-in novel, titled Labyrinth of the Lost, which follows a small band of heroes fighting for survival in the twisting, labyrinthine realm of the Gaunt Summoner.

The game is currently available at Game Workshop’s online store and retails for $265. This price may seem steep to some, but for what you get in the box in addition to Game Workshop’s reputation for quality, we think it’s fair. If you are looking for a new game for your tabletop, we believe that you should seriously considerWarhammer Quest: Silver Tower.
