To get Tulin as a companion in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you first must go to Rito Village. This is in the Hebra region, which is afflicted by a blizzard. When here, you can find Tulin talking to Heba about how to solve the blizzard. After this, Heba will send you to talk to Harth.

Make your way to the Hebra Trailhead Lodge. Harth will have you track down Tulin, who is looking for food in a cave system nearby. When you track down the cave, you will find out Tulin went ahead to attack some monsters he saw. Talk to him at the end of the cave, and he will let you know that a monster stole his bow, and he needs your help.

From this point, Tulin will be your companion as long as you stay in Hebra until you finish the Wind Temple. If you leave, he will not follow but will automatically join you when you re-enter the region. When Tulin is with you, you can press A when he is nearby or when gliding to activate his gust ability. That wind will either propel you forward or can be used to knock enemies off their feet and activate turbines in the Wind Temple. He will also shoot arrows at enemies you are fighting.

Once the Wind Temple has been completed in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Tulin will give you the Vow of Tulin, Sage of Wind. This is a Tears of the Kingdom item in the Key Items section. You can go here to dismiss or summon a shadow form of Tulin that will travel with you all over Hyrule. Sometimes, it will automatically be dismissed, like when entering towns, but it is available in all important situations, whether you need a gust or the occasional companion fighter.

We recommend keeping the shadow Tulin out when exploring areas. Using his gust to push you forward while gliding can sometimes be the difference between reaching your desired area and falling. Be careful when there are a bunch of loose items on the ground, as it will blow them away accidentally. That is everything you need to know about how to get Tulin as a companion in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
