Season of the Deep has officially gone live in Destiny 2, and with it comes a new Seasonal currency called Salvage Keys. Salvage Keys are used for acquiring more loot at the end of the new Seasonal activity known as Salvage—who could have guessed. However, some players need clarification on how to obtain these keys efficiently. So today, it’s time to discuss how to get Salvage Keys in Destiny 2.
What Activities Drop Salvage Keys In Destiny 2?
Like most Seasonal currencies, Salvage Keys can be obtained by completing various activities such as Strikes, Crucible, or Gambit. They can also be earned by completing encounters in Raids. However, unlike previous Seasons, their drop rate is really low, so it may take multiple runs of Strikes or Crucible matches before finally earning one. So if that’s the case, what’s the best way to acquire them efficiently?
For most players, farming Strikes is usually the go-to option, as most of them can be completed in under ten minutes and are very straightforward to beat. However, there is a far better method for more experienced Guardians.
How To Farm Salvage Keys
Guardians who are able to group up in a fireteam should make their way to the Last Wish Raid. Once inside, the first boss, Kalli, will be the first and last stop you’ll have to make.
It’s pretty well known by now that the Last Wish Raid can be cheesed in numerous ways. The first boss, Kalli, is no exception. One player will use the Exotic Grenade Launcher, Anarchy, to trap Kalli in place when the encounter begins. After that, the rest of the team will unleash everything in their arsenal to defeat her. If done correctly, this fight should take at most a minute for experienced teams.
Defeating Kalli will grant exclusive Last Wish Raid loot and Salvage Keys, and in Raids, Salvage Keys are a near-guarantee drop. Farming Kalli over and over will quickly increase your inventory of Raid loot and Seasonal keys. Keep in mind that you can only hold five Salvage Keys at a time. You cannot earn nor have any more once you reach the limit, nor will any go to the postmaster.

Once you acquire five of them, head back to the Salvage activity and use your keys on the final loot chest. Using a key will grant double rewards, such as multiple Deep Engrams, weapons, or armor. Of course, Kalli isn’t the only option, as there are other Raid bosses that can be farmed quickly.
