Prince Sidon is the fan favorite Zora from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and he returns as a companion for Tears of the Kingdom. Fans adore Sidon for his outgoing personality, optimistic attitude, and friendship with Link. Of all the returning companions in Tears of the Kingdom, Sidon is the one most fans want to team up with. Fortunately for fans, getting Prince Sidon as a companion is necessary to complete the main campaign of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
How Do You Get Sidon as a Companion in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
After completing the tutorial in Sky Hyrule and unlocking the first Skyview Tower in the Lookout settlement, Purah will send Link on a quest to the four main kingdoms of Hyrule. Zora’s Domain is one of the kingdoms and is located east of Hyrule Castle.
Once at Zora’s Domain, you must clean the Sludge-Covered Statue in the town’s center and talk to Sidon’s fiance, Yona. Talking to her starts the Sidon of the Zora quest.
Sidon will be at the top of the mountains hovering over Zora’s Domain, in Zora’s water supply known as Mipha Court. However, before Sidon becomes Link’s companion in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you head to Toto Lake nearby to talk to the Zora name Jiahto.
You catch Jiahto trying to decipher a Broken Slate. Find the missing piece of the Slate near the entrance of the cave where the Broken Slate lies. After fixing the Broken Slate, you must complete the Clues To The Sky Quest.

To complete the new quest, find King Dorephan in his secret hiding spot behind one of the waterfalls near Zora’s Domain. You’ll need the Zora Suit to ride up the waterfalls. He will hand over pieces of his scales to you.
Near Mipha Court, there’s a brown waterfall dripping from a sky island in the shape of a fish. Glide over to the waterfall and ride up to the island. There are floating pieces hovering near the island. Get to the highest elevation of the land mass and move around until you notice the floating rock pieces surrounding the island form a perfect droplet. Shoot an arrow with the King’s Scales attached to get a cutscene.
Afterward, talk to Sidon again. After another cutscene, Sidon will finally join you as a companion in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. He will accompany you on your quest to the Water Temple.
What Does Sidon Do as a Companion in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?
As a companion in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Sidon summons a bubble of water to surround Link if you interact with him with the A Button. The water bubble gives Link a free hit, meaning when an enemy strikes him, it will not cause him any damage. Furthermore, charging up an attack with the water bubble lets Link summon a powerful wave strike.
Prince Sidon doesn’t stay a permanent companion for Link in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom after completing the Water Temple. Nonetheless, a water apparition in Sidon’s image can be summoned at any time to accompany Link in his adventure.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available for Nintendo Switch.
