Moving through the Gerudo Desert in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be frustrating. To start, you have to find some heat resistance, and you will have to contend with plenty of enemies until you complete the Lightning Temple. To make things worse, walking around this barren wasteland will slow you down unless you have a certain armor item. Here is how to get the Sand Boots in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

To get the Sand Boots in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you need to buy them from the Gerudo Secret Club in Gerudo Town. This store can be found by traversing the underground tunnels and using Ascend to pop through the floor of the shop. Once you arrive, you shouldn’t have a problem locating where to find the Sand Boots in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. If you have already been in here before, you can break the wooden crate blocking the front door and walk in.

The Sand Boots are priced at 1,200 Rupees, just slightly less than the nearby Snow Boots. If you are a little short moneywise, you can sell some items to the Gerudo standing behind the counter. If you don’t see the Sand Boots to the left of her, you may need to buy a couple of armor pieces from the other side.

Unfortunately, the Sand Boots do not give you the added bonus of heat resistance while running through the Gerudo Desert. For that, you will need to either eat a heat-resistant meal, put on other armor pieces or have an ice-powered weapon on your back. You can increase their defensive value by upgrading them at a Great Fairy with the right materials. While they don’t help you survive any better in the harsh environments, the additional movement is very appreciated.

We recommend buying the Sand Boots. The desert is large and vast. Even though this is the only location they are useful, it will be worth it. Combining them with heat-resistant armor will make your journeys around this wasteland much more bearable. If you want to move even faster, you can shield surf with a Sand Seal. Catch them in the wild or rent one from the Sand Seal shop in Gerudo Town.

Traversing tough areas like the Gerudo Desert in Tears of the Kingdom can be a drag. That is why the Sand Boots is such a simple but effective armor item to have in your inventory.
