How Many Fairies Can You Hold in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Some of you might be asking how many Fairies Link can hold in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Carrying around Fairies during your adventure could be a lifesaver. Just like in previous Zelda games, having a Fairy in the inventory will revive Link when he’s incapacitated. They can also be used to make a potent Health-restoring Elixir. But what is the maximum amount of Fairy that Link can hold in the game? Let’s explain.

By default, Link can hold up to four Fairies in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. They will also stop spawning once you have four of them in the inventory. Make sure you carry three or fewer Fairy for them to spawn again. If you already have four Fairies, you can cook them into Fairy Tonic or release them from your inventory.

Fairies always spawn in threes in circular ponds near Skyview Towers in the sky islands. Sometimes they appear inside caves too. If you walk near them, they will instantly flee. So you have to crouch slowly while approaching them. Alternatively, you could increase your Stealth by wearing the Stealth Set or the Yiga Armor or drinking the Sneaky Elixir. In case they are hovering out of your reach, just be patient and wait, as they should lower down eventually. Fairies will only respawn after a Blood Moon if you end up clearing out a spawn location.

How To Farm Fairies

As written above, a Fairy will be automatically consumed when you die and restores five Hearts. They can also be cooked into Fairy Tonic. The more Fairies you use, the more potent the Elixir becomes:

• Fairy x1 = Fairy Tonic restores 7 Hearts
• Fairy x2 = Fairy Tonic restores 17 Hearts
• Fairy x3 = Fairy Tonic restores 27 Hearts

For this reason, holding a lot of Fairy to farm them for Tonics in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is pretty crucial. And you can actually bypass the four Fairy limitations. To do so, hold a Fairy, but do not release them, so Link has only two Fairies in the inventory. More Fairies will spawn in the area. Then you should be able to collect three more for a maximum capacity of five Fairies.

Afterward, you can cook them into Fairy Tonics until you have only two left. Repeat this as often as you can.
