Hood of the Depths in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is an armor piece. It is a part of the Depths armor set that provides Gloom resistance for Link. Traversing the Depths of Hyrule, you will have trouble with this infectious danger that will chip away heart containers if you are in the Gloom for five or more seconds. This armor piece can’t be found at certain locations. It can only be purchased with Poes. This guide will show you how to get the Hood of the Depths in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

To obtain the Hood of the Depths in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you must collect Poes (blue flames) and locate six Bargainer Statues. These statues can be found in the Depths, and by offering 100 Poes to each statue, they will reveal the location of another statue. Once you have found and prayed at all six statues, the Hood of the Depths will become available for purchase in the shop for 300 Poes.

As you progress through the Depths and find and unlock new Bargainer statues, new items will be added to the Bargainer Statue shop. Remember to collect Poes in the Depths whenever you spot them, as they are quite useful.

Before obtaining Hood of the Depths, you can purchase other pieces of the Depths armor set. The complete set includes Gaiters of the Depths and Tunic of the Depths.

Each armor set piece offers a heart container protection from Gloom disabling it.

Additionally, to armor pieces, these shops offer several different items that help Link in his adventure. Some of the items include:

  • Dark Clump
  • Puffshrooms
  • Bomb Flower
  • Muddlebud

The Bargainer Statue shop is also where you can get the Dark Armor set, comprised of:

  • Dark Tunic
  • Dark Trousers
  • Dark Hood

Once you have the entire Depth Armor Set and not just the Hood of the Depths in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you will get Gloom Attack resistance. This means that Link will be immune to enemy attacks infected by Gloom. You are also resistant to walking in Gloom areas, but not immune, so be careful. This upgrade is only obtainable after you upgrade the Armor set.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
