You can not get Shiny Petilil in Pokemon Go Solstice Horizons. Also, you will not find Sewaddle in Shiny form. But Petilil and other Pokemon, such as Ledyba, Murkrow, Solrock, Drifloon, Purrloin, Cottonee, Fomantis, and Sewaddle, will appear more frequently during the event.

If you are lucky, you will also encounter Shiny forms of these Pokemon, except Petilil and Sewaddle. Fomantis is also available in a Shiny version for the first time in Pokemon Go. You also have the chance to catch Hisuian Sneasel too. But unfortunately, it is also not available in its Shiny version. All these Pokemon will appear during the daytime. So even though you cannot find Shiny Petilil in the Pokemon Go Solstice Horizons event, you can still enjoy catching these particular Pokemon.

Some Pokemon will appear more frequently at night. Oddish, Spinarak, Misdreavus, Lunatone, Stunky, Venipede, Foongus, Phantump, and Fomantis are these Pokemon. Except for Phantump, all other Pokemon also appear in Shiny versions. Lucky Trainers can encounter Sneasel, including its Shiny variant.

The most appealing part of the event is the special research task. Because you have to choose between the day and night time during the second part of the research. You will get a lot of rewards for completing the special research.
