One of the biggest reveals during the Nintendo Direct of June 2023 was the teaser for an upcoming Princess Peach game for the Nintendo Switch. While the details of this title are scarce, it is nice to see the damsel in distress finally get a new game of her own. After being rescued by the beloved plumber Mario countless times, she will take the spotlight for the first time in years, and fans are happy about that. So far, we only know that the game will launch sometime next year. Depending on the game’s development, this could change, but we hope Nintendo won’t take too long to release it.

While this isn’t the first time Princess Peach takes the spotlight, it is certainly the first time she does it in a Nintendo Switch game. Many fans are thrilled to see her starring in her own game on this console, as it’s been a while since we saw her as the protagonist. Other games that let you play as Princess Peach are Super Princess Peach and Princess Toadstool’s Castle Run. The former was the more popular of the two, so you can imagine fans’ reaction after over 15 years without a game starring Peach.
