Dan Ayoub from 343 Industries took to the E3 stage to hype Halo Wars 2, the real-time strategy series set in the Halo universe. No one makes a cinematic trailer quite like Halo, and the trailer for Halo Wars 2 is no exception. The trailer shows off the conflict against a new enemy: Atriox, leader of the Banished. It does not show any gameplay footage, but it does set the tone for the game quite nicely.

Halo Wars 2 will be an “Xbox Play Anywhere” title, releasing simultaneously on Xbox One and Windows 10 on February 21, 2017. However, Ayoub dropped another surprise: a free beta is starting on Xbox One today that will last until June 20th. It can be downloaded right away on the Xbox One store.
