Argon Crystal is a unique resource in Warframe. Unlike other resources, Argon Crystal has an expiration date of 24 hours, making it rare. While you might be tempted to avoid it, you do need it for crafting Warframes and some weapons. What we can do for you is to make the process of acquiring Argon Crystals in Warframe more manageable or faster at most. Here’s how you can farm Argon Crystal in various ways in Warframe.
How to Farm Argon Crystal in Warframe
To begin, a Resource Chance and a Resource Drop Chance Booster will largely benefit your farming efforts.
You can find Argon Crystals in the Void; as mentioned, they have a 24-hour lifespan. It’s more complicated than that, as there’s a half-life equation, but to simplify things, just consider the Argon Crystal gone after a day. Or just check the decay counter in your inventory, like in the image above.
The crystals’ lifespan is determined by the time of pickup. That means stocking up on them is a bad idea. You’ll want to farm them as needed if you don’t want your efforts wasted.
It is best to use AoE (Area of Effect) weapons to speed up your farming. You can use weapons like Kuva Zarr, Tenet Arca Plasmor, and more. Check our top weapons list for more details.
For the choice of Warframe, bring a Nekros for additional loot from corpses (using his 3rd ability) or Hydroid with the Pilfering Swarm Augment mod (4th ability). This way, you can squeeze out more loot from the corpses, and hopefully, some of them are Argon Crystals.
Argon Crystal Farming Locations
Although the availability of the crystal is based on RNG, some places yield them better. Start by completing the Void Exterminate or Capture Missions. Capture the target and start traversing the map, breaking crates with your ability or your AoE weapon.
Try your best to check for any missing resources while farming. You can farm these crystals by taking down enemies, too. However, the chance of obtaining crystals from them is very low.
Some of the best places to farm the crystal include:
- Void Teshub – Exterminate
- Ani – Survival
- Stribog – Sabotage
- Oxomoco – Exterminate
- Mot – Survival
- Marduk – Sabotage
Last but not least, try out the Steel Path difficulty. More enemies and a higher loot drop chance means you can get more Argon Crystals in Warframe in a shorter span of time. Consider running in a squad to multiply your chances, and don’t be desperate for Argon, as the RNG gods can smell that desperation and might toy with you accordingly.
Warframe is available on Android, PCs, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
