Red Table Talk may be off the Facebook Watch lineup now, but Jada Pinkett Smith is positive of her talk show’s imminent return. The Facebook Watch show began airing in 2018, with Jada’s daughter Willow Smith, and mom Adrienne Banfield-Norris serving as her co-hosts. The show saw some of the biggest revelations from celebrities, especially the Smiths. In April 2023, after five years on air, the Facebook Parent company, Meta, canceled Red Table Talk in line with its decision to shutter all its Facebook Watch originals.
During a sit-down with People to discuss her upcoming memoir, Worthy, the actress delved into her Facebook Watch show, teasing its return. According to her, she was positive the show was definitely coming back. While she did not give an exact date, Jada revealed that several platforms have reached out to her team since the cancellation. However, they kept biding their time trying to figure out the best avenue. She divulged,
“We’ve had a couple of platforms reach out to us. And we have some interesting avenues that we’re looking at now. You know me, I’m always looking for the next innovative thing.”
When Would Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk Return?
Jada Pinkett Smith already has one idea topping her interesting list for the Red Table Talk return strategy. She expressed how excited she is knowing it would happen, and soon. On a possible return date, the star teased that it would happen close to the release of her book, slated for an October 17, 2023 launch. She added,
“We’ve got some really interesting stuff happening with RTT. I’m excited about that journey as well.”
This isn’t the first time Jada would discuss the return of her show. After Red Table Talk was canceled in April, the mother of two released an Instagram statement confirming she and her team were already seeking out a new home and would make their comeback soon. It appears the team has made great progress in that regard since then and is ready for a grand return.
