Meta has canceled its popular Facebook Watch talk show, Red Table Talk. It’s not necessarily gone for good. Meta shut down Facebook Watch, which homed Red Table Talk and other series. The company is putting all its focus on virtual reality experiences in Meta Horizon Worlds on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Jada Pinkett Smith hosts Red Table Talk alongside her daughter Willow Smith and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The series first premiered in 2018 to critical acclaim. Jada Pinkett Smith hosts guests from all backgrounds and discusses various subjects, from narcissism to suicide. Will Smith, Pinkett Smith’s husband, has taken over hosting duties a few times to discuss his roles and health issues. The talk show involves candid conversations about stigmatized subjects. Since Meta canceled the Facebook Watch talk show, other streaming services have snatched it up.
Jada Pinkett Smith Showed Audiences “Real Talk”
Not all episodes are serious, and not all guests are relatable to the common person. However, when the Facebook Watch talk show wants to get serious, it never disappoints. Jada Pinkett Smith had Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, sister, and mother on the show. They walked viewers through the events of Breonna’s murder and what her family experienced. Meta is retiring old platforms to focus its efforts on other ventures. That’s why it canceled Red Table Talk. The Facebook Watch talk show is an Emmy Award-winning series with over 11 million views. It isn’t afraid to talk about controversial topics and people. Jada Pinkett Smith has even told audiences about her personal life, including her marriage with Will Smith. Some other guests have included Queen Latifah, Jay Shetty, Jennette McCurdy, and Dr. Ramani Durvasula.
Meta hasn’t shared where to find past episodes of Red Table Talk since it was canceled. You can listen to their podcast here, and hopefully, the talk show will find a new home soon.
