Needless to say, Captain America: The First Avenger is an obvious ideal choice. Whether you’ve seen this movie multiple times or once, this is a great one to watch on the Fourth of July weekend. Not only does this movie future many Independence Day themes, but it also shares a lot of history from past wars. The movie begins in 1941 with a bullied kid named Steve Rogers who wants nothing more than to defend his country. Soon, Steve becomes a super soldier, and the rest is history. This is a great movie if you are new to the Marvel universe and is also very family-friendly and great to watch with kids.

The film is not based on a true story, but the narrative behind it will definitely have viewers thinking so. The movie has some very realistic events within it. It follows a U.S. Navy Laval Aviator, Lieutenant Pete Maverick Mitchell. Another one that can be picked up right after this is the sequel, Top Gun: Maverick.

Born On The Fourth of July is a movie that probably many have heard of since it also features Tom Cruise. Nevertheless, this is another good one to watch on Independence Day. The story takes place in the mid-1960s, in the location of New York, with teenager Ron Kovic when he enlists in the Marines. This is what he believes to be his patriotic duty. However, while in Vietnam, he unintentionally kills a fellow soldier during retreating; he later becomes permanently becomes paralyzed from the battle. Once he has returned home, he interacts with those who understand and don’t understand what he has been through during his time in the service and in war.

This epic adventure film stars Will Smith as the main character and takes place during a time when terror takes over the world and its major cities. This extraordinary movie tells a sci-fi story that features a global alien invasion-like theme. This title definitely unfolds a different worldly story over the Fourth of July weekend that many will be fascinated to watch. Independence Day brings together a group of unlikely people to fight against fate and other unimaginable circumstances and save the world.

National Treasure is a personal favorite for many people. This movie takes place with Ben Gates, played by Nicolas Cage, who has been searching his whole life for a rumored treasure he believes to exist. This treasure dates back all the way to the very birth of the United States. While on an expedition, Ben finds a clue that leads him closer to checking the code of where this treasure is and how to get there. However, one of the main clues is the Declaration of Independence, which he needs to steal. However, he has to make it there before his ex-colleague does. This is an unforgettable movie that many have probably heard of, as it also has its own sequel and a TV series spin-off.
