Squad is a 50 vs 50 multiplayer first-person shooter that aims to capture combat realism through communication and team play.

The developers at Offworld Industries have announced that in conjunction with Epic Games, Inc. they are releasing the official Squad SDK. If you are interested, you can download it today by clicking the “Get Unreal” button at this website. The core staff of Offworld Industries was members of the “Project Reality Mod Team” for Battlefield 2, as well as RoyAwesome being the Lead Developer for Empires Mod Team for Half-Life 2. In addition to the SDK, the first of the two-part official soundtrack for Squad was also released. It can be found on the game’s Steam page. If you have never heard of Squad, you can check out the trailer below.

The Squad news doesn’t stop there. Starting in July expect to see Humvees, militia technicals, Urals and M939 trucks, motorcycles, and some armored troop transports start to appear in the game. Additional vehicles will be rolled out going forward now that the game engine can add them in a modular and moddable fashion.

Thanks to Squad’s inclusion in the Steam Summer Sale 2016, Squad has surpassed 225,000 copies sold. The Steam Summer Sale price is the first discount on the game since launch, and only chance to buy the game on discount before vehicles are released in July. For more information on the game, be sure to check out its official website found here.
