Want to know how to catch and upgrade Zygarde in Pokemon Go? While all the players were looking forward to the second Squirtle Community Day Classic Makeup Event, Niantic prepared an unexpected but much more valuable surprise. From July 21, 2023, the game has a new Routes feature that allows players to create unique routes for other players and get a lot of bonuses together. But this is only the beginning because the long-awaited legendary Pokemon Zygarde has finally appeared in the game. And although the start Zygarde form is weak, we will tell you how to catch and upgrade it in Pokemon Go.

Who Is Zygarde

Zygarde is a 6-Gen legendary Ground and Dragon-type Pokemon and one of the most unusual creatures in this universe. After all, Zygarde is not just a Pokemon but a guardian of nature and an ecosystem. In addition, it consists of Zygarde Cores (the creature’s brain) and Zygarde Cells (the Pokemon’s strength).

Each cell of this Pokemon is a separate creature. And depending on the number of Zygarde Cells combined, this Pokemon has 10%, 50%, and 100% forms. Pokemon Go players have been waiting for this Pokemon for a long time, and finally, the day has come.

How To Get Zygarde in Pokemon Go

To catch Zygarde in Pokemon Go, complete From A to Zygarde Special Research and finish at least three of the six stages. Once you complete the third stage, you will receive a Zygarde (10% Forme) and a Zygarde Cube.

It’s worth noting that Special Research is the only way to get Zygarde, so you should do your best not to miss this opportunity. However, this Pokemon may take part in other events or become a raid boss in the future. In addition, it has three various power forms, so theoretically, it can appear in several Gym levels at once.

Even though Zygarde is a Legendary Pokemon, its 10% form is weak. But just like the original story, you can upgrade your Zygarde in Pokemon Go using Zygarde Cells. Depending on the number of Cells, you can upgrade this Pokémon to 50% or 100% form. Luckily, collecting Cells is tied into the new Routes mechanic.

How To Farm Zygarde Cells

  • Click on the Nearby tab in the lower right corner of the screen.
  • Choose any Route and start walking.
  • You may notice a green glow on the ground, as shown in the image above.
  • Interact with this glow to collect Zygarde Cells into your Zygarde Cube.

You can only get this material while walking along the Routes. But fortunately, there are no restrictions, and you can farm as much as you want.

All Zygarde Forms

  • Zygarde’s base 10% form is a black and green dog with a green scarf. The power of this Pokemon is limited, but it has great potential.
  • Zygarde’s 50% form is a massive slug or snake Pokemon, which looks like the Arbok Pokemon. The power of this Pokemon can reach high levels and even against some legendary Pokemon.
  • 100% Zygarde form is a giant robot Pokemon. The abilities of this Pokemon are not inferior to the strongest legendary pocket monsters. The maximum CP of this Pokemon reaches an incredible 4267. And as the developers themselves say, the 100% form of Zygarde can even withstand Xerneas or Yveltal.
