At this point “Angela Deem returns” sounds like the name of a horror movie. But the fact that she is going to be on the show with her ex will add a whole new (and awful) dynamic to the proceedings.
But if so many people dislike her and rally against her, why bring her back? The answer is simple. All shows need a bad guy. All good shows give you at least one person to openly hate. Obviously, there are some people up in arms about this. They are angry that a network would give such a problematic person a soapbox on which to stand. But when glancing at the history of 90 Day Fiancé, bad people are almost more common than likable people. This is a sneaky way to get people talking about the show. There probably are some folks who would’ve never watched without Deem present for them to hate on.
It is a cunning business move, but honestly, a smart one that is clearly working. Deem and SojaBoy are problematic at their best, so Bravo knows what it’s doing.
