To many, the Pikmin series has always been a relaxing, if not slightly chaotic group of games. Between calming music and adorable graphics, the Pikmin franchise is always a joy to play. The newest entry, Pikmin 4, only furthers this atmosphere with the introduction of the cute dog side-kick Oatchi. However, relaxing Pikmin management can quickly disappear whenever a boss appears. Boss fights in the Pikmin series appear suddenly and often place players into hectic fights for survival. Despite this, some players have learned to master various techniques to defeat these bosses quickly. For any player that wants to see Pikimin enemies get what they deserve, here are 5 boss quick kills in Pikmin.

5. Giant Breadbug

The Giant Breadbug is one of the cutest bosses and can be killed quickly with good strategy.

We can’t make a Pikmin boss list without mentioning our favorite boss, the Giant Breadbug. Functioning as the boss of the Glutton’s Kitchen cave inย Pikmin 2,ย the Giant Breadbug is a Bulborb surrounded by a large loaf of bread. One of the Giant Breadbug’s greatest strengths is its durability. The Breadbug can absorb massive hits if not dealt with correctly. To defeat this Pikmin boss quickly, players must engage in a tug-of-war battle with it, pulling it toward the Research Pod. If successfully overpowered, it will hit its head on the pod, taking half its health in damage. Although this is the standard technique, players have been able to optimize the placement of objects to bate the adorable boss into a rapid demise.

4. Scornet Maestro

The Scornet Maestro can be cheesed fairly easy.

Design-wise, the Scornet Maestro has always been one of our favorite bosses from Pikmin 3. The large hummingbird-like enemy uses its mouth like a harp to issue commands to a legion of smaller Scornets. These Scornets are the main way the boss attacks and can be difficult to dodge. However, there are strategies to quickly and safely dispose of the Maestro before it can do too much damage. First, players will need to set one of their leaders to have no Pikmin. This captain will be the decoy, as the Maestro will only target the current captain. Once locked on to the solo captain, players can swarm the boss with an entire legion of Winged Pikmin. After doing this twice, the Scornet Maestro will be defeated faster than it appeared.

3. Emperor Bulblax

The original boss of the first game, the Emperor Bulbax can be killed quickly.

The fearsome Emperor Bulbax is one of the most aggressive enemies you can face in Pikmin 1. Between his massive size and huge health pool, Emperor Bulbax can quickly decimate entire armies of Pikmin. Its tongue especially has no limit to the amount of Pikmin it can capture, leading to huge casualties. However, some players, like YouTube user Oli, have devised strategies that let players quickly kill the Pikmin boss. First, by using Yellow Pikmin with tons of Bomb Rocks, players can set up an explosion dealing massive initial damage. After, players will then want to launch as many Pikmin on the boss as possible. If done correctly, Emperor Bulbax should go down without having a chance to fight.

2. Armored Mawdad

The Armored Mawdad is one of the quickest bosses in the game.

The Armored Mawdad is the first boss of Pikmin 3 and an extremely quick and optimized boss fight overall. This giant arthropod has a large shell that can shield it from damage unless properly dealt with. Normally, players would slowly crack away the Armored Mawdad’s armor until it is vulnerable and then attack it. However, there is a way to kill this Pikmin boss extremely fast. Players will need to focus on just cracking the beast’s tail armor. After, when it climbs on a wall, players should swarm the tail with Red Pikmin while bombarding it with Rock Pikmin. By rinsing and repeating for the second phase, players should be able to easily defeat this massive monster in under a minute.

1. Quaggled Mireclops

Though difficult, the Mireclops can be defeated with good strategy.

One of the hardest bosses in the game is the Quaggled Mireclops from Pikmin 3. The boss is a massive beast covered with plant life, mud, and crystals, as well as three huge hooves. Additionally, the large attacks of the boss can quickly wipe out legions of Pikmin, taking out your entire army. For the quick kill, however, players will need to use a combination of skill and strategy. First, players will need to attack the Quaggled Mireclops’ feet and break its crystal, similar to the normal strategy. Then players will slowly circle the weak point of the boss while lobbing Pikmin at it, as demonstrated by YouTuber Ice Cube. If done correctly, the terrifying boss should go down in no time.
