The Destiny 2 Summer Solstice 2023 is upon us with an in-game event inviting Guardians to participate in unique activities. With a total of 19 available events, the Destiny 2 Summer Solstice Challenges ensure that there’s no lack of content for players to enjoy. Some challenges, however, are far more vague than others, such as In the Hot Seat. The Solstice Neptune activities have some Guardians scratching their helmets, as not all missions within Neptune will complete In the Hot Seat challenge. Here are the Neptune activities you want to chase to complete this task.
The challenge In the Hot Seat revolves around completing tasks in Neptune. However, only certain tasks are counted towards the progression’s percentage. Completing this card is fastest with the HyperNet Current Strike, which offers 30% completion per mission. This mission, however, requires players to have the most recent DLC for Destiny 2, Lightfall. We have verified the following activities to progress the In the Hot Seat challenge.
- Hypernet Current — 30%
- Heroic Public Events — 10%
- Neomuna Lost Sectors — 10%
- Story Missions — 10%
- Normal Public Events — 6%
Players should launch the HyperNet Current Strike from the Director rather than through playlists. Navigate to the Neptune destination to find the HyperNet Current Strike on the left side of the map. The Strike for this Solstice Neptune activity is located just to the left of the Zephyr Concourse. The entirety of the Strike will generally take roughly ten minutes to complete, and players can complete multiple Solstice bounties per Strike to increase their rewards.
It’s understood by the community that Raids can offer up to 70% completion for the In the Hot Seat challenge. The time and party commitment necessary, however, makes it difficult to recommend. Finally, if players do not have the Lightfall DLC, In the Hot Seat can still be completed through other Solstice Neptune activities. Roaming and clearing Heroic Public Events and Neomuna Lost Sectors offer 10% towards the challenge, equating to roughly an hour within Neomuna to complete this challenge.
To unlock all challenges for the Solstice, players will need to head to The Tower. Talk to Eva Levante within the Courtyard to begin the Solstice event and unlock the first Strike. After completing the first event Strike, Bonfire Bash, all remaining 18 challenges will unlock for players. Players will note that the final page of the event holds the Neptune Solstice activity. Guardians eager to complete Destiny 2‘s Solstice event have until August 8, 2023, when the festivities conclude. That’s a meager 21 days to clear all 19 challenges available, which should offer ample time with some planning.
