Since BTS embarked on their temporary hiatus in 2022, each member of the group has been gradually releasing solo music. On July 14, Jungkook made his long-awaited solo debut by dropping his English-language single “Seven” featuring Latto. The track received both a clean version and an explicit version, as well as several remixes. A week after its release, Billboard announced “Seven” debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart on July 24. The achievement made Jungkook the second member of BTS to land a No. 1 hit. Jimin was the first member to go No. 1 following the release of his debut solo single, “Like Crazy,” in March.
To promote “Seven,” Jungkook appeared on Suga’s Weverse show, Suchwita, to discuss his latest solo plans. “What’s next after the single?” Suga asked. “I have another single and then I’ll be releasing a small mini album by November,” Jungkook confirmed.
Ahead of his appearance on Suchwita, Jungkook also discussed his upcoming solo music in a July 28 interview with Audacy Check In. While chatting with the podcast, Jungkook revealed that he’s been busy working on “new music” that is sure to get “some good results” once he finally shares it. In terms of his debut solo album, Jungkook teased it’ll be worth the wait. “I’d say it will be awesome! I am confident,” he said. “Please wait a bit longer. I think a great album will be on the way.”
You hear that, ARMY? Jungkook’s debut mini album will be here before you know it.
