Harry Styles‘ new tattoo is raising eyebrows. During his trip to Bolsena, Italy, the singer seemingly debuted a new thigh tattoo that read, “Olivia.” Styles was hanging out on a boat with friends when photographs captured him with this latest ink on his leg. The star’s Italian getaway comes just eight months after he and his ex-girlfriend Olivia Wilde broke up. Of course, some fans are speculating that Harry Styles’ new tattoo could be a tribute to the Don’t Worry Darling director. However, others think it’s a nod to his One Direction days. So, which one is it? Here’s why the tattoo has the internet divided.
Is Harry Styles’ New Tattoo a Tribute to His Ex-Girlfriend Olivia Wilde?
After wrapping up his Love on Tour shows in Italy on July 22, Styles remained in the country to take a much-needed vacation. On Friday, July 28, Styles was seen relaxing on a boat with his long-time friend James Corden and his wife Julia Carey. The group also included Victoria’s Secret model Jacquelyn Jablonski and her rumored fiancé Xander Ritz. Styles flaunted his new thigh tattoo that appeared to read “Olivia.” Underneath it was another piece of new ink that read “Colazione,” which is the Italian word for breakfast.
It’s unclear when Styles got his “Olivia” ink, but fans speculate it may have been when he and Wilde were still together. After meeting on the set of their movie Don’t Worry Darling in September 2020, the pair sparked dating rumors in January 2021 when they were photographed holding hands at a wedding. They remained together until November 2022. Since then, Styles has been linked to model Emily Ratajkowski, as well as actress Taylor Russell.
While some fans think Harry Styles’ new tattoo could be a tribute to his ex-girlfriend Olivia Wilde, others believe it’s a reference to the One Direction song “Olivia.” The track dropped in 2015 as part of the group’s Made in the A.M. album, which marked their fifth and final album together before they embarked on their solo careers.
Since then, Styles has found success with hit singles like “Watermelon Sugar” and “As It Was,” both of which went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
