The car’s motorist, 35-year-old Vermont resident Ryan Koss, is being charged with “grossly negligent operation with death.” Koss reportedly turned his vehicle “into the path of Mr. Williams’ motorcycle.” Williams suffered several critical injuries before dying. The coroner’s report says that Treat Williams succumbed to “severe trauma and blood loss as a result of the crash.”

Motorist Ryan Koss is facing some severe causes for causing Treat Williams’ death. According to Vermont’s driving laws, “grossly negligent operation” resulting in death can mean up to 15 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $15,000. Koss was cited and released on Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment on September 25 of this year.
This motorist’s actions are alleged to have caused the death of acclaimed actor Treat Williams. The actor had numerous credits to his name, including playing Danny Zuko in the original Broadway run of Grease. His star-making role was likely in the 1979 movie Hair, based on the musical by Gerome Ragni and James Rado. Williams earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for TV films such as A Streetcar Named Desire (1984) and The Late Shift (1996).
He earned further nominations for his TV work, particularly for his starring role as Dr. Andy Brown on The WB’s Everwood. The role earned Williams nominations for two Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Golden Globes, and a Primetime Emmy. Willians was also nominated for two Satellite Awards and an Independent Spirit Award.
