A new Pokemon Presents has officially been announced and it will be arriving live on August 8th. There is consistently a lot of hype around these big showcases, and rumors are already flying about what new information may potentially be announced through this upcoming event.

Pokemon has been in an interesting place over the last year. The franchise followed up one of its most critically acclaimed games in recent years, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, with one of its most controversial main series entries, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The pressure is on for whatever Game Freak and The Pokemon Company may be bringing next, and those announcements are coming in this next Pokemon Presents on the 8th.

It’s safe to say that more information about the upcoming DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will almost certainly be presented at this event. The first DLC release, The Teal Mask, is scheduled to arrive sometime this fall. It’s possible that the official release date could be given, along with some other reveals to build up the hype for the next Generation 9 release.

More information about Detective Pikachu Returns also seems like a given, especially considering the teaser video for the event briefly turns into a neon logo that somewhat resembles the Detective Pikachu logo. The game was officially announced at the Nintendo Direct in June and has a planned release date of October 6th, but little else has been said about the game since its initial reveal.

The announcement says there will be 35 minutes of news at this event, which makes it seem like there will be even more announcements besides what’s been previously stated. Many are wishfully hoping for an announcement about Gen 5 Black and White remakes, but that’s complete speculation until the event actually takes place.

Pokemon Presents is going live on August 8th at 6 a.m. PDT / 9 a.m. EST.
