Want to know if Froakie can be Shiny in Pokemon Go? Although Starter Pokemon like Charmander or Fennekin has always been slightly stronger than other simple Pokemon, some have a special place in the history of the pocket monster world, and Froakie is one of them. As a small and weak frog, Froakie became one of the strongest Ash Ketchum Pokemon and one of the first Pokemon to Mega Evolve in Pokemon Go. This pocket monster first appeared in the game in December 2020 during the Kalos Celebration Event and could not be Shiny until recently. But can Froakie Community Day change that? Today we will answer this question.

Can You Catch Shiny Froakie in Pokemon Go

Luckily for fans of the Greninja family, the answer is Yes, Froakie can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. The Froakie Community Day event on August 13, 2023, is the first appearance of the Shiny version of this Pokemon in Pokemon Go, and it’s fantastic news. Millions of fans of this frog have been waiting for almost three years before getting a unique version of this Pokemon into their collection, and the day has finally arrived. But hurry because you will have only a few hours to find and catch this frog.

As we said, on August 13, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Local Time during Froakie Community Day, you can meet hundreds of Froakies in all locations. Under normal circumstances, you could catch Shiny Froakie with a 1/500 chance, but your chances are much higher during this event. In addition, here are some tips to increase your chances of success:

  • First of all, focus your search near the body of water. Lakes, rivers, or seas are Froakie’s preferred habitats, so you’ll find many more of these Pokemon here.
  • Also, don’t forget to use Incense to attract more Pokemon and increase your chances of success.
  • If you decide to take a break, be sure to use the Lure Module. Thus, even while relaxing in a cafe or a park, you can attract a few Froakie.
  • Finally, if you’re looking exclusively for Shiny, you might not catch every Froakie that comes your way. Check if it’s Shiny and leave if it’s the classic version.

What Does Shiny Froakie Look Like?

As for Shiny Froakie’s appearance, it doesn’t differ much from the classic form. The blue base of this Pokemon’s body becomes much lighter, making it a kind of albino of this species. Otherwise, this Pokemon is still cute and strong, and other body parts remain unchanged. In addition, the above changes apply to subsequent evolutions of this pocket monster.
