The Orion camo in MW2 and Warzone 2 is the final camo that you can unlock in your weapon mastery. This is a visual customization setting, and unlocking it will put a unique animated skin on your weapons, which proves that you’re a true Call of Duty professional. However, you should know that the tasks for achieving this camo are not easy. But you’ll get four cool completionist camos along the way for all your guns, which makes the whole process a rewarding adventure. Let’s begin!
How to Unlock The Orion Camo?
There are a total of 8 unlockable weapon mastery camos for each weapon in MW2 and Warzone 2. The first four are the unique camos that you can unlock for each particular weapon. But the next four camos are much harder to unlock. The challenges for the Gold, Platinum, Polyatomic, and Orion camos are integrated with doing a certain task with many weapons in the game.
Gold Camo: The first of the weapon mastery camos is Gold. This camo is unlocked by getting a certain amount of kills with weapons in each class. For example, you need to unlock the unique camos for Lachmann-Sub first and then get 3 kills without dying 10 times. This is while you need to unlock the unique camos of this particular weapon to access this challenge. You can complete this challenge easily in Shipment 24/7 in any mode.
Platinum Camo: The next target in your way to unlock the Orion camo in MW2 and Warzone 2 is the Platinum. This camo is the trickiest one to unlock, as you need to get longshot kills with each weapon. However, you must complete 8 Gold Camo challenges first before you start getting long-range kills.
Now after you’ve unlocked the Gold Camo for eight different weapons, you are allowed to get long-range kills. This is not a hard task for Marksman and Sniper Rifle classes, for sure. But if you want to get ranged kills with other weapon categories, you need to work harder. For example, a long-range shot with a pistol or even an SMG might become a nightmare once you realize most of the shots you do won’t count. Here are the ranges that count as a long shot kill in MW2 Multiplayer and Warzone 2.
- Assault Rifles: 38m
- Battle Rifles: 38m
- Marksman Rifles: 38m
- Sniper Rifles: 50m
- LMGs: 38m
- SMGs: 30m
- Pistols: 20m
- Shotguns: 12m

Polyatomic Camo: The last target you hit before reaching the Orion camo in MW2 and Warzone 2 is the Polyatomic. This camo itself doesn’t have quite a difficult challenge to accomplish. But before unlocking the main challenge, you need to unlock the Platinum camo for 51 weapons in MW2 or Warzone 2!
This challenge was even harder back when there was a total of 51 weapons in the game. You had to do this by doing challenges with the launchers and melee knives. However, right now, there are 64 weapons in the game, which makes it much easier for you to get some long shots and unlock the Platinum camo for all of them. After that, you get to the real challenge.
The main objective for unlocking the Polyatomic camo in MW2 and Warzone 2 is to get 25 headshots. This is much easier to do than the longshot challenge. And you can complete it in a few days by playing Shipment 24/7.
Orion Camo: The Orion Camo doesn’t have a secondary challenge in MW2 and Warzone 2. All you need to do is to unlock the Polyatomic camo for 51 weapons in the game, and then you’ll get the camo for all of them. This is the camo that shows you’re a real Call of Duty master, and you’ll see that not a lot of players can unlock it even after a year. However, if you focus, put your time into it, and play the right mods for each challenge, you’ll unlock this camo in less than a week!
Also, remember that you don’t need to complete the Orion camo challenge with every weapon you see in MW2 and Warzone 2; only 51 of them are enough. Plus, completing these challenges in Modern Warfare 2, Multiplayer is always easier, while you can still give more time to do them in Warzone 2‘s fast-paced modes like Plunder.
Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 5 are currently available to play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
