Brands have made deals with movie studios before, but Marvel Studios is getting into saucy new territory. To celebrate the release of a new meal that can be ordered at McDonald’s, it has delivered an exclusive clip of its collaboration with Marvel Studios‘ upcoming second season of Loki that features a throwback to an old-school version of what the fast-food chain used to look like (as seen below).
Starting today, over 100 locations will offer the “As Featured In Meal.” The combo will include a medium drink, medium fries, ten-piece chicken nuggets, and a choice between a Quarter Pounder with Cheese or a Big Mac. It will also include a sauce packet of the McDonald’s Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce with the branding of Loki, featuring the distinctive green associated with the character. When you scan the sauce, it will offer exclusive Marvel-related content.

The clip was shared by the head of the fast food company’s social media, Huin Guillaume. It shows returning characters Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson) entering a 1970s-styled McDonald’s with a TVA. They see Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) at the counter, in which she lights up with surprise when she sees her variant. While they have an awkward reunion, Mobius tells the prisoner that he isn’t “going anywhere until” he gets an apple pie before walking off-camera to get himself a treat.
The second season of the hit Marvel series will delve into the aftermath of the death of He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). With a new Kang variant on the loose, they are hunting him down while trying to find a way to fix the Sacred Timeline. It will feature the returning cast seen in the clip, with other returning co-stars, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, and Wunmi Mosaku. Newcomers will include Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Kate Dickie (The Northman), and Liz Carr (Silent Witness).
The show will not be expected to have promotions from its actors or writers due to the ongoing strikes. While lucrative deals get made, like having McDonald’s featured in Loki, many are not paid fairly among the crew and cast. Streaming has led to little-to-no residuals, which is one of the key points that led to the current strikes of SAG-AFTRA and WGA.
Loki season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on October 6.
