What are the controls to sprint and run faster in Madden 24? The latest version of Madden has now been released for modern consoles, offering players upgraded graphics and gameplay mechanics. The game will be the second title in the franchise to release after the passing of legendary coach and series namesake John Madden. Sprinting and running is one of the most significant features for players to know in the franchise, as you need to control your players to trek across an entire football field and maneuver around opposing team members.

Is Sprinting and Running Different in Madden 24?

The control layout in Madden 24 isn’t too different from Madden 23. While Madden 24 features more polished graphics and gameplay, the newest entry doesn’t radically change the button layout.

Whatever buttons you used to play Madden 23 are most likely the same in the most recent entry. The biggest difference between the last two Maddens are the teams and jerseys. If you know how to play Madden 23, you should know how to sprint and run in Madden 24. In short, the buttons are the same in Madden 24 as in Madden 23.

What Are the Controls for Sprint and Run in Madden 24?

The control layout is different when you’re playing the game offensively or defensively. The running and sprint button is available anytime your players are moving on the field. You can sprint and run during offensive plays like Ball in Air or Running and defensive plays like Defense Pursuit. Running and sprinting are obviously not available during Pre-Play.

The football player you control generally runs faster if you tilt your joystick far enough on the edge. However, you must hold a specific button to sprint in Madden 24. The sprint button depends on what controller and platform you’re playing the game on. With that said, the sprint button on the DualShock and Xbox controller is the back right trigger button.

  • For PC, you hold onto the Right Mouse Button or L-Shift.
  • For PlayStation, hold onto R2 while using your left joystick to move.
  • For Xbox, hold RT with your left joystick.

Sprinting is vital in the Madden games. You must sprint away when an opposing player gets too close to avoid getting tackled. Still, be careful not over-abuse the sprint button. You must time your sprints carefully because if you sprint too early, your opponent will match your speed sooner. It’s better to wait for an opponent to get near you and run away quickly so your opponent doesn’t have the time to catch up.
