This week, Alien: Covenant has wrapped production as the next prequel/sequel in the Alien universe.
Alien: Covenant takes place after Prometheus (2012) but before the events of Alien (1979). Adding to the exciting news about our favorite acid-spitting xenomorphs, this week also marks the 30th anniversary for James Cameron’s blockbuster sequel, Aliens. Celebrating this occasion, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will be at San Diego Comic-Con with “original cast members Sigourney Weaver, Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen, Paul Reiser, Michael Biehn and Carrie Henn as well as director James Cameron and producer Gale Anne Hurd to Comic-Con in San Diego for a 30th-anniversary panel”. Alien: Covenant has Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender reprising their roles from the previous film, Prometheus. The rest of the cast brings new faces to the Alien universe: Uli Latukefu, Danny McBride, and Katherine Waterston to name a few. Ridley Scott will also be directing this space-trucking, xenomorph scrambling sci-fi thriller.

The crew of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but it is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
The newest sequel/prequel, Alien: Covenant, is set to hit theaters August 4th, 2017.
