Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez are feeling nostalgic. On Aug. 18, the Disney Channel alums shared a throwback video when they acted alongside each other on Hannah Montana. Now, over a decade since the show ended, Cyrus and Gomez are reflecting on their Hannah Montana days ahead of their new singles, which are both dropping on Aug. 25.

In Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez’s characters were known to be celebrity rivals. They constantly bickered and dissed each other’s music. However, in real life, the stars have nothing but respect for each other. So, when they both announced their new singles on Aug. 17, they took the opportunity to support each other’s upcoming releases by giving each other a shoutout on Instagram.
“@mileycyrus and I both have a SINGLE SOON and we are releasing on the same day. We have been friends since we USED TO BE YOUNG. Excited for August 25th!!!” Gomez wrote on her Instagram Story. In her message, Gomez referenced her upcoming song, “Single Soon,” as well as Cyrus’ new single, “Used to Be Young.” She also shared a funny Hannah Montana clip in which their characters criticize their new singles. Considering both Gomez and Cyrus are dropping new music on Aug. 25, it was the perfect opportunity to revisit the clip.
Cyrus shared the same video on her own Instagram Story. “@selenagomez and I are both dropping our new SINGLEs SOON….. I SAY WE #USEDTOBEYOUNG,” she wrote alongside the clip.
“Used to Be Young” marks Cyrus’ first release since she dropped her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, on March 10. Meanwhile, Gomez is also expected to come out with a new album. While announcing “Single Soon” on Instagram, Gomez said she decided to drop the track while fans wait for her third record.
