Marvel Studios had another great event at Comic-Con over the weekend, as expected. We got more information about some of their highly anticipated projects, including a sneak peek from the set of Thor: Ragnarok, an official second trailer for Doctor Strange, a teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the first look at Spider-man: Homecoming. Before any of this happened, though, Marvel had a great surprise for us.

As we all know, Marvel Studios has used the same, iconic logo of the flipping comic book pages for years. That is now changing. The famed Studio revealed a new logo at comic con, which is thirty seconds long, by the way, and it is different from anything we have seen from them thus far. The new logo also has a bold and modern feel to it now, which is indicative of how confident and comfortable Marvel Studios seems to be in their own success and popularity. It is also worth nothing that we are in phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is set in the aftermath of Ultron’s attack, and this new logo feels like it is acknowledging this new phase by giving the MCU something of a fresher look. You can watch the new logo below.

It still pays homage to the comic books and begins with the same flipping of the comic books that we are used to, but then you can see that it starts looking noticeably different. The camera then pans out to reveal some of Marvel’s greatest heroes, including Thor, Captain America, Ant-Man, and The Hulk in these smooth action shots. These quick shots then overlap with video of other Marvel characters, and in the background, you can hear the music build until it reaches a dramatic ending. The hype is definitely there while watching this new logo, and it is sure to get everyone pumped for the movies that will follow it.

Beginning with Doctor Strange, which is coming out November 4, 2016, we will be seeing this logo at the beginning of every Marvel Studios movie. The logo also comes with fanfare from the Oscar-winning composer, Michael Giacchino. He has composed scores for Up, the superhero movie, The Incredibles, J.J. Abrams reboot of Star Trek, and several other movies. Phase three looks bright, indeed. Stay tuned to The Nerd Stash for more information about Marvel Studios.
