As you progress through Baldur’s Gate 3, you must fight many story and side bosses. And while you can avoid some battles, this is not the case with Orin the Red. An ardent follower of Bhaal, Orin loves to transform into other creatures and kill in the name of her god. At first glance, it might seem that she is weak because she has only 101 health. But thanks to the patronage of her god, she has a powerful shield, overcoming which will require a lot of effort. But we are here to help and tell you how to defeat Orin the Red in Baldur’s Gate 3.

As we said, to defeat Orin the Red in Baldur’s Gate 3, destroy her Unstoppable shield. Although it sounds pretty simple, it’s not. The Unstoppable armor that Orin receives from her deity may annul about nine attacks, after which you have only one turn to damage her. So, regardless of whether you deal 1 or 20 damage, you will only remove 1 unit of shield durability. This way, you will have to deal with nine attacks of any strength as quickly as possible and deal maximum damage during one turn of the shield cooldown.

During this battle, quantity is more important than quality, and this description perfectly characterizes Magic Missile spells. This spell will become the basis of your strategy regardless of the team because by spending only one action and first-level spell slot, you will shoot three consecutive shots that always hit the target. In this case, the damage does not matter because the shield will lose durability from any damage.

Once you have destroyed the shield, deal as much damage as possible using all the most deadly attacks. But try to leave the cleric behind the fight and keep its healing and resurrection skills. The attacks of Orin and her followers are strong, and many heroes can die after only 1-2 hits. And in this case, a cleric ready to heal allies can be a core link to victory.

On the other hand, Orin’s health is only 101, so a prepared group can deal enough damage to win in 1-2 turns. You don’t have to knock down the shield too many times. Knowing the features of this boss, you only need to buff your team as much as possible and prepare Magic Missiles spells and other necessary skills before the battle. Remember that Orin the Red’s combat form looks intimidating, but it’s not the scariest thing you’ve encountered.
