Starfield has a large amount of content which means several missions to explore. With the variety of missions to explore, you are going to find your favorites quickly. Some of these missions look great since you meet the system requirements. Maybe you enjoyed the outcome and found it hilarious or find out a companion reacts to a certain mission. Whatever it is, you want to replay those missions again and re-experience the joy. But repeatable missions are a risk, as players of the frequent Minutemen missions in Fallout 4 can attest to. Can you replay missions in Starfield and how does it work?

How To Replay Missions In Starfield

Starfield doesn’t have repeatable missions in the same way that Fallout 4 did with the Minutemen missions. While that might change in the future, there is a technical way to replay missions. Once you complete the game, you can start up a New Game Plus and repeat the missions that way. It’s a long grind especially if your favorite mission is towards the beginning, but there isn’t another choice. On a positive note, it does mean that you can replay missions in Starfield, even if it feels like a roundabout method.

There may be a few repeat missions in Starfield that you can use to gain more resources, such as enemy attacks on outposts. You might also find some mods that allow you to repeat certain missions without having to beat the game. But this may be difficult for missions where choices matter, and you can only get one reward depending on your choice. Repeating those missions is best left for a New Game Plus.

Even if you aren’t able to repeat missions in Starfield, there will be plenty of opportunities to max out your character’s level. Getting to Level 100 won’t be a problem and it’s likely you will finish the game before then. You will come up with your own builds, favorite weapons, and strategies for dealing with situations. Repeating a mission is best when you are trying something new or testing a new build. You can also make save files before a mission to test, then carry those strategies forward in another playthrough.

While waiting for New Game Plus to replay a mission sounds tiring, it does mean your choices matter. The consequences you make when taking on a complex mission will stay with you and there are no takebacks. That can change if mods come out in the future but make your journey into space count the first time. When you go through on a New Game Plus, make different decisions and see what happens.
