Offering players hundreds of hours of unique gameplay, Starfield is filled with dialogue to help you learn more about the world you’re about to explore. Some NPCs want to talk to you for selfish purposes, and someone is just a kind traveler who decides to tell you about the area, but not all dialogues are essential to your character. In addition, the game has a lot of cutscenes, and the video of your ship landing will haunt you throughout the game. It can get boring over time, and many players have a logical question. Can you skip cutscenes and dialogue in Starfield? We are here to give you an answer.

First of all, it is worth noting that there is no single answer to this question. So let’s talk about everything in order. And let’s start with the fact that you can skip the dialogue in Starfield, and it’s pretty easy. To do this, you only need to press the A button on Xbox or the corresponding key on the PC. By doing this, you will skip the lines of dialogue and be able to move on to the next stage of the gameplay. However, this method has a few exceptions.

If this dialogue is part of a cutscene or an integral story conversation, you won’t be able to skip it. The game does not want you to miss the plot, and it is logical. In addition, we still advise you not to skip dialogues in at least the first few hours of gameplay because you may miss essential information that will help you later. But after a couple of hours in Starfield, you will learn to distinguish important information from empty chatter.

As for cutscenes, you can’t miss them in Starfield. It is a little disappointing, but there are several reasons for that. Firstly, cutscenes in Starfield can be divided into two groups: story and loading screen. Logically, you won’t be able to skip the story videos as they tell the game world story. On the other hand, the game does not have the usual loading screen, so short cutscenes play its role. So when you once again warp to another system or land on some planet, accept that you will not be able to miss this loading video.
