If there is one thing you can be sure of in FromSoftware games — your patience and skills will challenged to their limits. While Armored Core 6 is a far cry from a typical Souls-borne game, it still presents the difficulty that will remind you of the sub-genre. Therefore, having the best weapons can ease the combat experience. The most difficult boss in AC6 is probably Cel 240 from the IBIS series at the end of Chapter 4. If you are struggling to defeat this boss, then here is how to beat Ibis in Armored Core 6.
Ibis Boss Fight Guide in Armored Core 6
The first step of any boss fight in Armored Core 6 is selecting the right weapons. Ibis is not only strong but can move quickly. As a result, attempting to stagger this opponent is a boss fight of its own. Therefore, using Dual Gattling Guns with Dual Songbirds on your shoulders is an ideal loadout choice. If you have a good aim and can time your shooting perfectly, the LR-037 HARRIS Linear Rifle is a good option since it can deal heavy damage to the posture. Otherwise, Gattling Guns is the best option since it has better tracking.
In the case of the building, try to balance the AP and movement when you assemble your AC. You don’t want a full tank that can’t move quickly, nor something that only moves quickly but dies after a few hits. A lightweight tank track should be an ideal option for carrying all the guns and still moving around nicely.
Before jumping into defeating Ibis, we have several tips that can help you. The first thing is to be constantly moving. Staying in one place, even far away, will make the boss more challenging because it can easily dodge your missiles and grenades from a distance and also reach you quickly. Try to not go far, but be always on the move. However, this only works in Phase One since, in Phase Two, there is a move that you must stay away from.

The next tip is to mostly use your Gattling Gun to break posture and stagger and then use Songbird to deal damage. Make sure you count each shot because this boss has two phases, and it will take a load of ammunition to beat it. And lastly, PC gamers may want to use a controller if they have one. Ibis moves quickly, which means your mouse will most likely break the lock-on and make the boss harder to beat.
Phase One of Ibis Boss Fight
The two primary attacks of Ibis in the first stage are Laser Beam and Laser Slashes. The Laser Beam is where you have a small window to attack the boss. When you see Ibis charging, shoot your Gattling Gun and dodge at the right moment.
As for the Laser Slashes, the best thing to do is stay away from them. Position yourself not too far to miss your chance of attacking but not too close to get fried by its lasers. Try to maintain a distance, and dash back each time you think Ibis is getting close so you can dodge the attack. One of the main challenges in the Ibis boss fight is positioning; once you’ve mastered maintaining an ideal distance, you can dodge and avoid a good portion of its attacks.
Ibis doesn’t have lots of moves to memorize and learn, but understanding how to dodge those attacks takes some time and practice. Accordingly, knowing when to attack is another challenge you have to overcome as well. Overall, the Ibis boss fight in Armored Core 6 was designed in a way to test your limits, so don’t get frustrated if you die a couple of times.
Phase Two of Boss Fight
Once you defeat the Ibis, it will be resurrected, and a pool of red electrics will appear around it. Jump and try to stay above the ground. Shooting some missiles and dealing damage early on is also a good strategy.
Most of the time, Ibis will use the same attacks it did in the first phase, but it will do a Spinning Attack every now and then. Once you see it draw its two swords and make the tilted t-pose, use your boost option to get out from it quickly. Dodging won’t work here due to the fact Ibis moves faster in this attack. If you’re struck, you will lose a big chunk of your health. Apart from that, use the same strategy you did in the first phase of the boss fight. After a few defeats, you will get the hang of it and defeat Ibis in no time.
Armored Core 6 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
