Traveling between thousands of planets and visiting unique and repeatable locations, you can find a lot of loot, from simple consumables to full-fledged spaceships. But sometimes the rewards are hidden behind a solid door or in a safe, and you will need Digipicks to get to the contents. These little tube-shaped devices are electronic versions of the lockpicks that Bethesda fans used in Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. You will relatively often find Digipicks early in the game, but if you’re low on supplies, we’ll cover all the ways to get this consumable in Starfield.

Starfield: All Way To Get Digipicks

First of all, it’s worth noting that you’ll first encounter Digipicks and the Lockpicking mechanic during the One Small Step quest shortly after you start your adventure. In addition, the first few hours of gameplay are educational. So you will find a lot of valuable materials, including digital lockpicks. However, as you advance in the story, you will encounter them less, and you should resort to one of the following methods to get more Digipicks in Starfield:

  • First, you can still find them in open areas in any location.
  • You can also buy this consumable from NPC vendors.
  • Finally, you can steal this and other items from any NPC.

If you do not want to spend money and resort to theft, you should devote time to exploring many planets. You can always find a few outposts, abandoned labs, and other repetitive locations. Inspect tables, containers, cabinets, corpses, and other loot spots. You can even find some Digipicks near safes and locked doors, so just be careful. In addition, you can activate the scanner to detect several Digipicks nearby.

The second way is to buy Digipicks from sellers. Visit any more or less large city and talk to NPC vendors. You can find this consumable in the Misc tab for 33-35 Credits per one. The number of Digipicks available may vary by vendor, so you can’t buy too many at once. However, you can rest 24-48 hours of game time and visit the same NPC to buy more Digipicks. Luckily, you can carry an unlimited quantity of this item as this item is weightless.

Finally, you can take up theft and check the pockets of unsuspecting residents of big cities. The good news is that looking through NPS pockets is not a crime, so you don’t have to take risks for no reason. If you notice some Digipicks in your NPC’s inventory, you can try to take them. But you must pay a fine or go to jail if you are not stealthy enough. However, you will increase your chances of success by increasing your Theft Skill. Maximizing this skill almost guarantees free items without risk to your wallet and freedom.
