Even though Starfield offers players a lot of content for all tastes, the game still has a story, and besides, it is far from linear. The game constantly presents several routes among which you must choose your path, starting with the choice of faction and religion. And although some decisions do not affect the story, Starborns-related story points always have consequences. So, while visiting the NASA Landmark on Earth during the Unearthed mission, you will encounter Hunter and Emissary, and both will offer you to side with them. The choice between Hunter and Emissary in Starfield has significant consequences, so we’re here to help you make a decision.
Starfield: Hunter Or Emissary?
First, it is worth noting that this choice does not have a single correct answer. The choice between Hunter and Emissary in Starfield affects the difficulty of the final battle during the Revelation mission. If you decide to go your way, you will be left alone against both Starborn, thus significantly raising the bar for the difficulty of the final mission. However, let’s not rush to conclusions and carefully consider each decision.
What Happens if You Side With the Hunter
As Keeper Aquilus and adhering to the ‘Survival of the Fittest’ principles, Hunter proposes to leave the universe and its inhabitants to themselves. Endless bloody wars will determine the strongest, and the weak will perish. This position is not devoid of logic but will lead to many senseless deaths.
To choose the side of the hunter, you must select the ‘The Hunter is right‘ and ‘I’m siding with the Hunter‘ options. This decision will ensure that Hunter will side with you during the Revelation final mission. On the other hand, Emissary will become your enemy. However, if you choose this option, you can also choose to kill or spare Keeper Aquilus later. And in this case, you can deprive support but remove a potential enemy.
What Happens if You Side With the Emissary
If you prefer the sole government of the universe, like to decide the fate of people, and want to give the title of Starborn only to a select few, you should choose the side of the Emissary. The views of this NPC are centered around the restriction of freedom to achieve orderliness and reduce fighting. This goal seems noble but takes away the most essential thing from people – freedom.
To side with the Emissary, you must select ‘The Emissary is right‘ and ‘I’m siding with the Emissary‘ during the conversation. By choosing this solution, you get a 100% guarantee that the Emissary will support you during the final mission. On the other hand, Hunter will become your enemy.
What Happens If You Don’t Choose Side
If you want to make your way and don’t like either side, you can choose the ‘You’re both wrong‘ and ‘I’m tired of both of you‘ options. It will cause both NPCs to become your enemies, and the final mission will become much more difficult. You will have to defeat incomprehensibly powerful enemies, but humanity will be freed from the oppression of more powerful forces.
