If you’re a fan of silencers and suppressors, then you might be looking for a proper stealth build in Starfield as well. Bethesda’s latest game offers a variety of classes, perks, skills, and abilities to use. However, you need to have the right gear and setup to match your playstyle. Recently we explained how to become a pirate in Starfield, and now we’ll show you what we consider the best Starfield stealth character build.

Just like any other game that offers the option of stealth mode, you can be a ghost in the galaxy in Starfield. For that to happen, you should open fire on targets, nor should you attack them in open sight. You would need a suitable melee weapon and modified guns that come with a suppressor.

For the gameplay, there’s no complexity to how you can play the stealth mode. You need to first have the Stealth skill on the Physical skills tab. Then you can do suppressed operations by sneaking behind the enemies, or shooting them with your silenced rifle while they’re alone.

Best Stealth Weapons To Use in Starfield

  • Old Earth Sniper Rifle
  • Suppressed Refined XM-2311
  • Elegance
  • Keelhauler

These weapons are your bread and butter if you want to put some time into playing Starfield with stealthy tactics. The Old Earth Sniper Rifle is actually the VSS from some other shooter games. You can easily purchase it by going to New Atlantis’ Residential District and visiting the Centaurian Arsenal shop.

The Suppressed Refined XM-2311 however, is a superpower pistol, suitable for the best stealth build in Starfield. This pistol has a bonus armor piercing damage, which comes in handy for one-shot headshots. You can unlock this by going to the Porrima solar system and visiting the Porrima II planet. There’ll be a mission called The First Contact; complete it, and the pistol is all yours.

As for the Elegance, you can purchase this silenced pistol from Rowan’s gunshop in Akila City. Last but not least, you can achieve the Keelhauler by completing missions for UC Vanguard in New Atlantis. The Keenhauler is a silenced pistol that deals a ton of damage, and it has the armor-piercing ability, just like the Elegance and Refined XM-2311.

Best Skills You Need For Stealth Build in Starfield

  • Stealth
  • Concealment
  • Pistol Certification
  • Sniper Certification
  • Wellness
  • Security

The Stealth skill is undoubtedly a must-use to have the best stealth build in Starfield. In fact, this skill unlocks the stealth meter for you, which is necessary to know your detection level by enemies. You’ll also get 5% more damage by using suppressed weapons when activating the first level of the Stealth skill.

The next important skill to master in Starfield is the Concealment. This skill allows you to do more damage while shooting targets in stealth mode. After that, you’ll need the Pistol and Sniper Certification skills for one-shotting targets in stealth. Wellness is also needed to increase your maximum health. And in the end, you’ll need the Security skill to unlock the safes and locked doors with a higher chance of success.

Remember to level up these skills during your adventure, and always prioritize them as your main to spend skill points on. These will make the best stealth build in Starfield if you master all of their abilities and complete their level-up challenges.

The Mantis suit is the ultimate tool to use for the best stealth build in Starfield. This suit is granted to you by doing a mission called the Mantis, and you can unlock it by finding an item called the Secret Outpost. This item is randomly found as enemy corpses’ loot, and once you find it, it’ll immediately mark the Mantis side mission for you.

Now in order to complete this mission, you need to head over to the Denebola solar system. Here you’ll have to follow objectives until you reach a final puzzle. The key to this environmental puzzle is Tyrannis. Remember to put all the words correctly on the puzzle field, and you’ll unlock the Mantis suit in the end.

Now why is the Mantis suit the best option for stealth build in Starfield? Because you can turn invisible with this suit! Making it much easier to do stealth kills and complete missions without being seen.
