One of the goriest movies of the year has a funny bone. Lionsgate has released a new promotional video for Saw X, a parody of the Nicole Kidman AMC ad (see below). The recreation follows Billy, the infamous puppet from the horror franchise, riding his tricycle through the movie theater with a spin on the reasons behind why “we come to this place.”
When you see a movie on the big screen at an AMC location, you will see the Oscar-winning star go over the theatrical experience. It started once theaters opened back up after the initial shutdowns from COVID-19 in 2020. It has become a meme over the last two years. It is fitting that one of the most anticipated horror movies of a beloved franchise has its turn.

The Saw parody of the Nicole Kidman AMC ad changes a few lines. As you think it will be about the theatrical experience, it takes a fun, grisly turn as the Jigsaw killer goes from movies to talking about his favorite thing, traps, as “they make movies better.” The video perfectly captures what fans love about Saw while having a sense of humor about its well-known history of extreme violence.
Other chains have had similar videos played before a movie begins. Regal has an equally notorious ad with people saying various movie lines featuring Danny Trejo. It is not as favorable, so much so that people consistently insult it for its annoying nature.
Memes and parodies like seen from Saw X will continue on the Nicole Kidman AMC ad once we get the sequel. In an interview with Variety, AMC CEO Adam Aron confirmed that a new version is in the making.
Saw X will butcher its way through the big screen on September 29.
