As you travel through the starfield, you’ll find that there are some resources that are a little easier to find and obtain than others. In the case of Platinum, it’s one of the resources that are only difficult to find if you don’t know exactly where to look. Because of that, we have written out where to get Platinum in Starfield.

On your search for Platinum inย Starfield, one of the best planets you’re going to want to visit for this is Kapetyn I, which is within the Kapetyn’s Star system. It might take a little bit of searching to successfully find it, but if you’re still looking for it on the planet, then you’re going to want to focus on the resources that have a light blue outline when using your Hand Scanner. These are the resources on planets that have yet to be scanned. Considering that you haven’t been able to find Platinum, then looking for resources like this will be your best bet. The ones that glow green are the ones that you have already successfully scanned, meaning that you can ignore those until you come across the Platinum.

Something else that you need to take into consideration when looking for this resource is that Platinum is considered to be a rare resource. That means that you will need to add a few points to the Geology and Scanning skills if you want to have any hope of actually being able to use your Cutter to gather any.

Where Can You Buy Platinum in Starfield?

If you are still having trouble actually finding the Platinum for yourself, then you might want to head over to a vendor that has it. There are two spots in the game where you can find it and they are as follows:

  • Midtown Minerals
    • Akila City
  • Mining League
    • Neon

It isn’t required that you be at any specific level before you are able to buy Platinum, so just make sure that you visit the vendors every now and again so that you can get the best chance at finding this resource.

What Can You Make With Platinum?

There really isn’t anything outside of weapons recipes that Platinum can be used in. You can create the following recipes at the Weapons Workbench:

  • High Velocity
  • Hair Trigger
  • Bullet Hose
